Product Description
Baird Parker Agar Base (HiMedia M043) is a selective culture medium base developed for the isolation and enumeration of coagulase-positive Staphylococcus, particularly Staphylococcus aureus, from food products, dairy samples, pharmaceutical materials, and clinical specimens. The formulation contains peptones, glycine, sodium pyruvate, lithium chloride, and agar to provide nutrients and selective properties for reliable microbiological analysis.
The dehydrated medium is prepared by suspending the recommended quantity in purified water and sterilizing by autoclaving. After cooling, Egg Yolk Tellurite Emulsion is added aseptically to produce the complete Baird Parker Agar used in microbiological laboratories following standard methods such as AOAC, ISO, USP, and APHA guidelines.
