HiMedia Simmons Citrate Agar is a chemically defined dehydrated culture medium developed for the differentiation of Enterobacteriaceae based on their ability to utilize citrate as the sole carbon source. During incubation, citrate-positive organisms grow and produce alkaline by-products that change the bromothymol blue indicator from green to blue, making interpretation straightforward.
