Product Description
Triple Sugar Iron Agar (TSI Agar) 500gm from HiMedia India is a dehydrated microbiological culture medium used for the differentiation of Gram-negative enteric bacteria. The medium detects glucose, lactose, and sucrose fermentation, gas production, and hydrogen sulphide formation within a single tube, making it an essential medium for diagnostic, food microbiology, pharmaceutical quality control, research, and educational laboratories.
The formulation contains three carbohydrates, phenol red as the pH indicator, sodium thiosulphate, and an iron salt for H₂S detection. Following incubation, characteristic colour changes, gas formation, and black precipitate allow rapid differentiation of bacterial isolates.
